I have been using an earlier version of DiscLabel. How different is DiscLabel 6?

There are significant changes in the user interface and design process in DiscLabel 6. We've also included all the templates that were formerly available for purchase. For more details, see What's Different About DiscLabel 6?

I have more than one computer. Does a single license allow me to install on all of them?

Yes, if you are the only user of those computers. If you have multiple computers used by more than one person, you can purchase a Family Pack license, which covers 5 computers in the same household. (Click here for more information.)

Does DiscLabel support printers that print directly on CDs and DVDs, like the ones from Canon, Epson, Primera and Dymo?

Yes.

Which label types does DiscLabel support?

Here is a list of the label types that DiscLabel presently supports. We are constantly adding support for more labels. You can update the labels available from the internet. In the Media mode, click on the media list drop down and choose "Edit Media List..." In the window that appears, Press the "Update from Internet" button.

DiscLabel NEATO edition supports only Fellowes/NEATO label types.

What if I don't have Mac OS X 10.4 or later?

For Mac OS X 10.2.5 - 10.3.9, please download DiscLabel 2.4.1.

Where can I download previous versions of DiscLabel?

DiscLabel 3.3.2 and DiscLabel 4.4.2 are still available for download. Both require Mac OS X 10.4 or later.

How do I add a new label type to DiscLabel?

See our instructions for adding a new label type. Note that you can only add label types to DiscLabel, not DiscLabel NEATO edition.

How do I import graphics from applications other than iPhoto?

You can import graphics from a file using the Import Image button from the Edit window. In the Import Image palette, choose "Folder" from the Image Source popup menu. In the popup menu just below that, select "Choose Folder..." then find your image file and click the "Open "button. The Import Image palette can also import images from iTunes.

You can drag and drop images from other applications directly into DiscLabel's Edit window. Just drag the image file into over the the design in editing area. A green '+' should appear next to the dragged item indicating that it will be added to your design when you release the mouse.

You can also import graphics from files using the "Import..." command in the File menu in the Edit function.

How do I apply a background color to my design?

DiscLabel Background ColorImportant: Before starting, make sure that nothing is selected and the background layer tab is active. The Object Properties tab of the Inspector palette should be visible. (Click the Inspector button to open the palette if it's not visible.

1. Click the Fill color button. The Colors palette opens.
2. Select a color.
3. Drag the color swatch onto the disc surface in the edit area.
Note: a background fill color can only be solid, not a gradient. To make a gradient fill background, just add a circular shape to the background layer and apply any fill to that.

What is the DiscLabel NEATO Edition?

The DiscLabel NEATO edition is a special retail version of DiscLabel that comes packaged with CD/DVD labels and inserts from Fellowes/NEATO. You can download the NEATO edition here.
