San Francisco, CA - November 12, 2008 - SmileOnMyMac has released PDFpen 4.0.2, an update to its PDF editing software for Mac OS X. The update adds Bates numbering, a numbering standard widely used for legal documents, to the AppleScript menu. Various other enhancements and fixes have also been added, including a keyboard command to force OCR (Optical Character Recognition) of an entire document.

All the changes in PDFpen 4.0.2 have also been made in PDFpenPro 4.0.2, the Pro version that has the ability to create fillable PDF forms and document Table of Contents, in addition to all the features of PDFpen.

PDFpen 4.0.2 can be downloaded at http://www.smileonmymac.com/PDFpen/download.html. The update is free for registered users of PDFpen 4.0.

PDFpen costs $49.95. PDFpenPro costs $99.95. Family Pack licenses, which cover up to 5 computers in one household, are $74.95 for PDFpen and $129.95 for PDFpenPro. Upgrades from earlier versions are $25.00, and free to users who purchased after June 1, 2008. Upgrades from any version of PDFpen to PDFpenPro 4.X are $50.

PDFpen and PDFpenPro require Mac OS X 10.4 or later. An Intel 1.8 Ghz processor or above is recommended for OCR. Fully-functional demo versions are available at http://www.smileonmymac.com/PDFpen/download.html.
